City of Joliet Building Department – Adopting New Building Codes on Sept. 10

Effective Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, the City of Joliet Building Department will be enforcing newly adopted building codes.

1)      International Building Code                            2015 Edition

2)      International Residential Code                       2015 Edition

3)      National Electrical Code                                 2014 Edition

4)      International Fire Code                                   2015 Edition

5)      International Mechanical Code                      2015 Edition

6)      International Fuel Gas Code                           2015 Edition

7)      International Energy Code                              2015 Edition

8)      Illinois State Plumbing Code                           77 Illinois Administrative Code 890

Any permits submitted on or after Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 will be subject to approval based on the above IBC code editions. For additional information contact the City of Joliet Building Department at 815-724-4070.
