Obitituary: James “Jim” L. Pangrazio

James “Jim” L. Pangrazio, 89, passed away on May 18 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Chicago on April 19, 1929, he resided in Channahon for several years. He retired from ComEd after 45 dedicated years of service. He was a member of the Joliet Archery Club, Joliet Flying Club and SECO.

Jim was an avid fisherman, hunter and he built and flew radio controlled airplanes.

Preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (nee Matoura); two sons, Steve and Joe; a sister, Gloria; brother Louie “Jay” Pangrazio and his parents, Louie and Millie (nee DeBosco) Pangrazio.

Survived by his 10 children, Jody Sebby, Greg (Dorothy), Rick (Wendy), Jack (late, Patti), Meg Trimby, Bobby (Maureen), Denise (John) Crowe, David (Pam), Michael, and Beth (Rich) Tobolsky, 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren (“with one on the way”); one sister, Joan (late, Bill) Schneider; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In accordance with Jim’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial gathering was held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory 2320 Black Road, Joliet. In lieu of flowers, donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
