Mother Nature, unleashed severe storms, this afternoon, which washed out most area baseball games. At Romeoville and Joliet West, Spartan head coach Mike Scrotch and Joliet West head coach John Karczewski, laughed at the Mother and got their games in.
At Romeoville, Minooka (11-8, 6-6) outslugged Scrotch’s Spartans 8-6, behind the torrid hitting of Seth Gutknecht. Gutknecht, led the 11-hit Indian attack with two more hits and four big RBI. Shortstop Hayden Laczynski, added three hits and two RBI.
For Romeoville (3-22, 1-11), Malachi Riley drove home two Spartan runs.
PLAINFIELD CENTRAL 10 JOLIET WEST 1
The Wildcats (16-8, 7-5) blasted the host Tigers behind their talented shortstop Charlie Bischoff. Bischoff led the Wildcat onslaught with three hits and four RBI while ‘Cat DH Brendan Dorsey added a pair of hits and a pair of ribbies.
Center fielder Nick Heffernan continued his hot-hitting with two more hits while Jake Donahue drove home another Wildcat run.
On the mound, Zach Rana and Trevor “Swamps” Hicks, combined for a seven-hitter at the Tigers. “Swamps” struck out four Tiger hitters.
NONCONFERENCE
The Sentinels (12-12) blasted IMSA in Westmont, on Wednesday. Matt O’Leary led the Spartans with a four-hit game, while Malek Mostafa added three hits and two RBI, for the Sentinels. Jake Marotta chipped in with a pair of hits and two RBI
