Dennis L. Darnell
Dennis L. Darnell, 73, a resident of Plainfield since 1971, formerly of Batavia, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born July 20, 1943 in Aurora.
Beloved husband of Gloria K. Darnell (nee Swanson), whom he married May 25, 1963, loving father of Jay (Terri) Darnell of Plainfield, Joy (Mike) Curbis of Plainfield and Jeff (Vicky) Darnell of Joliet, adored grandfather of Abbey, Hannah and Hunter Darnell; Kayla, Jenna and Maggie Curbis; Stephanie Darnell, devoted son of the late Norman and Arlene (nee Gee) Darnell, dear brother of Larry (Bernice) Darnell of The Villages, Orlando, Fla., and the late Robert Darnell, brother-in-law of Gretchen (Cal) Byrd of Batavia, and Gary (Sandy) Swanson of Maple Park, IL, fond cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend to many.
Dennis grew up in Batavia and was a 1961 graduate of Batavia High School. He was employed as a sheet metal worker for many years and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 265, Carol Stream. Dennis enjoyed bowling.
Memorial visitation was June 2 at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL. Memorial Services and interment were private.
