MARCH 25

Egg-Streme H20 Adventure. 5 to 7 p.m. at Challenge Fitness Pool, 2021 S. Lawrence Ave., Lockport. Hop and splash around our green pool, enjoy music, treats and games while gathering a basket of eggs. MARCH 26

Hartman Indoor Flea Market. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hartman Recreation Center, 511 N. Collins St., Joliet. Have you always wanted to have a garage sale but don’t have space? Are you worried the weather might ruin your day? Are you looking to buy something you can’t find anywhere else? Well, now you can do it all at the indoor flea market! This one-day event will be open to the community to sell your old charms or shop for new ones. Interested vendors, contact the Hartman Center for information at 815-741-7279. Space rental is $30 and tables are $10 each if needed.

 

Eighth annual Doggie Easter Egg Hunt and Raffle. 10 a.m. at Hammel Woods Dog Park, DuPage River access on Black Road, east of Route 59, in Shorewood. Presented by Shorewood HUGS and the Forest Preserve District of Will County. All proceeds from this event benefit Jullo, the Forest Preserve Police Department’s K9 officer. Doggie Easter baskets and gift cards raffle; raffle tickets will be $1 or 6 for $5. Due to annual large turnout at this event, it’s recommended pre-registering online. Dogs must be on a leash and accompanied at all times.

 

Hippity Hop Easter Egg Hunt. 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Road, Shorewood. More than 15,000 eggs have been ordered for this year’s indoor and outdoor egg hunts which begin at 10:45 a.m. Hunts will continue throughout the day until the eggs run out.The egg hunt will feature prizes for everyone along with plenty of kid-friendly entertainment. MARCH 28

Nowell Park Easter Egg Hunt. 10 a.m. at Nowell Park,  3000 W. Jefferson St., Joliet. Grab your Easter baskets and head to Nowell Park baseball field for the Great Egg Hunt! The park will be divided by age for the kids to participate.

 

MARCH 30

LEGO Club. 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Shorewood-Troy Public Library, 650 Deerwood Drive. Everything is awesome when you play with LEGOs at the library. You bring your creativity and friends – the library will supply the LEGOs and games. Families and littles welcome.

 

An Evening of Anime. 6:30 to 8 p.m. at White Oak Library Crest Hill Branch, 20670 Len Kubinski Drive. Whether you’re a huge fan of anime and manga, or have always wanted to get into it and need an introduction, watching both new and classic anime makes for an awesome night. Grades 7-12.

 

MARCH 31

Adventures in Publishing. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at White Oak Library Lockport Branch, 121 E. Eighth St., Lockport. Join for a special presentation by Joanne Zienty, winner of the 2014 Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author Project and author of “The Things We Save.” Enjoy a fascinating talk on her experience on getting published, the role libraries have played in her life and the Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author program.

 

APRIL 1

Extreme Adult Scavenger Hunt. 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Prairie Bluff Public Golf Club, 19433 Renwick Road, Crest Hill. Get your team of six together to compete in an extreme adult-only scavenger hunt. Each team will need to bring their own digital camera with a removable memory chip to take 30 pictures. You will receive a two-hour limo service to complete up to 30 questions and/or actions, three hours of open bar and appetizers and a photo booth for fun. Prizes will be awarded to the first place team and the team with the most original costume.

Candlelight Cabaret. 7:30 p.m. at San Damiano Hall, 603 Taylor St., Joliet. The University of St. Francis Vocal Jazz Ensemble’s Swingin’ Saints will highlight jazz in its “Candlelight Cabaret” performance. The ensemble group will reprise great classics from the “American Songbook.” The group is comprised of students with varied musical backgrounds singing as an ensemble and solos. This performance will include accompaniment by a professional jazz trio, staged in a nightclub-like setting.

Three Rivers Gardening Angels. 7 p.m. at Channahon Methodist Church, 34751 Eames St., Channahon. The monthly meeting of the Three Rivers Gardening Angels will be held. A speaker for the evening will be from Hornbaker Gardens giving a presentation on garden maintenance. Guests and new members are welcome and refreshments will be served.

 

APRIL 2

‘Men Who Cook’ Culinary Competition. 6 to 9 p.m. at Pipefitters Training Center, 10850 187th St., Mokena. The menu at the annual Eighth Annual “Men Who Cook” culinary competition has been planned by roughly 50 local guys who know how to make more than restaurant reservations for dinner. All proceeds will benefit the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center. The cost is $40 per person; $75 per couple. The price is $10 for children between 6 and 12; kids 5 and under can attend for free. Tickets available online at menwhocook.info or they can be purchased at the door.
