Joliet Central High School Boys Varsity Soccer players joined over 300 Chicagoland student soccer players for the PepsiCo Showdown and Buddy’s Helpers “Making a Difference On and Off the Field” charitable campaign on Sunday, August 21st.

They donated board games, monetary donations, and wrote hand-written notes for the seniors living in assisted living homes in Chicago on National Senior Citizen Day. The goal is to bring more daily enjoyment to the lives of seniors.
Joliet Central’s Varsity Soccer team will also be participating in the Pepsi Showdown soccer tournament in early September. Their participation in both the tournament and the charitable event demonstrate that good sportsmanship can better a community on an off the field.

The PepsiCo Showdown is a high school varsity soccer tournament – the largest in the United States. The goal of the PepsiCo Showdown is to bring different high schools, players and coaches together to shine on and off the field, while offering everyone the opportunity to get out of their communities to see different areas and economic situations.
