Two men were arrested July 10 after Joliet police and federal agents raided a Crest Hill residence.
Police said an investigation conducted with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives led to a search warrant for a residence in the 2100 block of Plainfield Road.
Officers made their way inside shortly after 5 a.m. and detained Jazmin J. Quinonez, 26, and Trebiel D. Smith, 25.
“Once the residence was secured, officers located over a pound and a half of suspected cannabis, drug equipment, drug packaging equipment, three firearms…one with the serial number defaced, numerous types of ammunition and multiple firearm magazines,” police said.
The investigation also led to the seizure of a semi-automatic rifle and ammunition from Quinonez’s residence in the 1100 block of Cypress in Joliet. Quinonez was arrested and booked into the Will County jail on charges of armed violence and manufacture or delivery of cannabis.
Smith, of the first block of North Center Street, was arrested on charges of armed violence, manufacture or delivery of cannabis, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and defacing the identifying markings of a firearm. Will County court records indicate Smith was convicted of manufacture or delivery of cannabis in 2016.
