Top-Ranked Redwings roll again in Naperville Central Tip-Off Tourney
Top-ranked Benet Academy won for it’s second time in the tournament and improved to 3-0 with a resounding 72-40 victory in Lisle over Rockford Auburn (1-1) . Kendall Holmes led the Redwing onslaught with 16 points. Lauren Stack added 9 points, while freshman Morgan Demos chipped in with eight points.
Minooka blows out Cicero-Berwyn Morton 62-13 in Lyons opener
The Indian girls led by Allison Bugajski, jumped out to a 40-5 lead and blew away the Mustangs in the Indians’ season-opener in Western Springs Saturday. Cierra Bachman and Savanah Johnson also had big games for the Indians.
Hawks’ Scales’ triples sink Barrington in Bison Classic
Maine South (2-1) senior Nicole Scales buried three long-range three-point bombs as the Hawks beat Barrington 56-44. It was second consecutive win for the Hawks in the tournament at Buffalo Grove. Nicki Manolis chipped in with eight points for the Hawks with two 3″s and a pair of free throws.
Lisle improve to 3-1; crush Guerin Prep at Ridgewood Tournament
After suffering their first loss of the season to Walther Christian on Friday, the Lions bounced back to crush Guerin Prep 69-20 in Norridge Saturday afternoon. The Lions jumped out to a 45-15 lead at the half and never looked back.
West Tigers improve to 2-1 at LW Central Tourney
After falling to the tournament hosts from Lincoln-Way Central, the Tigers of Joliet West (2-1) won both tournament games, this weekend,in New Lenox. On Friday the Tigers, rolled past the Reavis Rams’ girls 58-43. On Saturday afternoon, the Tigers slipped past the T-Bolts of Andrew 54-51.
Burlington Central sends Westmont to second loss.
The Sentinels fell 49-39 Saturday afternoon in the Beecher Holiday Tournament 49-39. The Sentinels are now 1-2 on the season.
Naperville Central roll past Plainfield North
The Lady Redhawks (1-1) were rude hosts on Saturday and romped past the Tiger girls 76-43 on Saturday. The Tigers fall to 1-2 on the season.
Plainfield South falls to Hornets in Darien on Saturday
The Cougars lost a heart-breaker in their second game of the Brenda Whitesell Invitational at Hinsdale South to the host Hornets 51-48.
