The Women’s Auxiliary of Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center (PSJMC) invites the
community to attend their 10th annual fashion show at Bolingbrook Golf club on Sunday, September
9th, at 11 a.m.
Models will hit the runway wearing fall fashions from Chico’s, Soft Surroundings, To the Nines and
Briosa Boutique. A selection of casual, business and cocktail attire and accessories will be modeled
by Auxiliary members and other friends of the Medical Center. This year will a give a throwback
wink to the early years of the fashion show, in which pre-owned authentic designer hand bags will
be available via a silent auction. Some of the hand bags will include Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade,
Michael Kors and Dooney & Burke. Additionally, a selection of unique, hand painted bags by a local
artisan will be up for auction as well as sporting event tickets, vacation packages, designer
sunglasses and more.
WJOL morning news reporter Monica DeSantis will serve as the MC and tickets are $55 each or
tables of ten for $550 which include a plated luncheon. A cash bar will also be available. Tickets
can be purchased by calling 815-725-7133 ext. 3466 or ext. 3371.
Net proceeds from the fashion show will support the healing garden revitalization project at PSJMC.
The revitalization will include new outdoor furniture, fixtures, landscaping and other enhanced
amenities to be enjoyed by the associates, physicians, patients and families of the Medical Center.
This year’s event is chaired by Auxiliary Past President, Dorothy Stanfield and Auxiliary President
Pam Bowden. “I’m honored to be leading an event that directly benefits the patients and visitors of
PSJMC,” said Bowden. “I’m delighted to be reunited with this event as Honorary Co-Chair,” said Patti
Kanellakes, who initiated and chaired the inaugural event in 2009. “It means so much to me to be
part of an organization that gives back to the communities we serve. The garden is a special place
that inspires healing and hope while calming the spirit and mind during difficult times,” added
Kanellakes.
The Women’s Auxiliary at PSJMC has a strong history of over 60 years of giving back through
service and fund raising. The women have raised over two million dollars through various
fundraising initiatives that support programs and capital projects for PSJMC.
