In tonight’s just released, Associated Press Week 2 Football Rankings, the Top 5 schools in our Terrific Ten Football Rankings, are also ranked by the Associated Press. Our Terrific Ten top-ranked schools, Maine South and Bolingbrook, check in at No.3 and No. 7, in the AP’s Class 8A Rankings, Our No.3-ranked Benet Academy, is No. 10, in the AP’s Class 7A Rankings. The 5th-ranked Dons of Notre Dame check in at No. 13 in Class 6A and the Hilltoppers of Joliet Catholic Academy, are the seventh-ranked school, in Class 5A.

5 and 7…… Maine South, Bolingbrook, Joliet Catholic Academy, Notre Dame and Lisle, were our area school’s, that won its out-of-area games-in Week One…..Seven area schools fell, against out-of-area school’s, for a, .412 record. Plainfield East and Plainfield Central, lost Southwest Prairie Conference games, to Oswego East and seven-time, defending, Southwest Prairie Conference Champion Oswego….
45….The area leading number of points, the Dons put on Geneva, in Notre Dame’s 45-7, opening-night win at Geneva on Friday…The Dons’ 45-point explosion on Friday night, ranked 30th in Illinois high school football, for Week One.
18 in 12…The number of points, Notre Dame’s all-everything, Ty Gavin, scored in the first quarter against Geneva. Ty had two short touchdown runs and then put an exclaimation point, on his extraordinary first quarter, with a 45-yard Pick 6…
0,,,,, The area’s fewest number of points allowed, by the hard-hitting, mean, Raider “D”, of Bolingbrook High School. The Raiders were one of 38 teams, that shutout their opponents in Illinois, last weekend.
233….Joliet Catholic Academy’s senior running back, Keenan Hailey’s rushing total, in the Hilltoppers huge win over St. Rita, on Friday night in Joliet.
108…Benet Academy’s senior wide receiver and defensive back, Jack Cooney’s pass receiving yardage, on five catches against St. Laurence at NIU’s Huskie Kickoff Classic on Saturday…Cooney also had a huge 28-yard punt return, to set up a Redwing touchdown….Cooney also had an interception,
